Kyra M. Sedgwick (born Kyra Minturn) is an American actress and television personality. Her name is well-known all over all over the world, and especially in America as she played the main role in 'The Closer. Sedgwick was a fan of acting, art and Broadway from the age of twelve years old. Her mother was very fascinated by Broadway and was able to introduce the show to her. Sedgwick was barely 16 when she got her professional acting debut in the series 'Another World. Her initial TV appearances were brief, but she was more interested in becoming a famous actress. Sedgwick was noticed at the top of the list for the first time with her part as a support actress in the film 'Born on July 4th' in which she appeared with Tom Cruise. Sedgwick received more movie roles due to the success of the film, including: "Singles", "Heart and Souls" as well as "Phenomenon". Sedgwick was a part of Kevin Bacon in a TV show known as Lemon Sky. She married him at the age of 22. Sedgwick made a mark in American TV with her impeccable performing. The Closer, which lasted seven seasons, won many awards including the Golden Globe and Emmy.
